“The symbiotic relationship allowed our team to reach a level of understanding and proficiency and implement execution we never thought would be possible in such a short period of time.”
Looking back.
As nearly 2 weeks have gone by since the end of the internship, the thoughts and experiences from my internship are still brimming in my head. All the hours on Zoom, and the combination of tabs open with Google Ads, Google Analytics, Marketo, Salesforce, Docs, and the WordPress website was not just tough on my laptop, but also tested my limits as we often had to work beyond our usual 8:30 AM-6 PM work hours, especially towards the end. This test of our team’s endurance was well rewarded, as our project did reap significant benefits, making the extra hours well worth it.
Freedom and trust.
The best parts of the internship were the freedom and the guidance provided.
The freedom afforded was extraordinary, all the way from the start, where we were allowed to explore and learn marketing all by ourselves. While we became autodidacts, we were also aptly guided by Marc, and given all the help we needed to understand marketing from Hafiz and Qianwei. Allowing complete autonomy to chase any project ideas (even our final idea of Dating seemed very out of place at that time) is something unheard of for internships. Furthermore, allowing us access to all the website data on day 1 was a show of trust in our team, and highly appreciated. This freedom was followed all the way to the end, with complete freedom (with vetting) on our ads and website design, which showcases how much Design Prodigy believes in its interns and is willing to support them.
Guidance and support.
Understanding marketing principles, MarTech stack, Ad design, and website design in a span of 5 weeks is a difficult task, but the appropriate guidance and support from all of the full-time staff ensured we were always just a WhatsApp message or a short google meet away from our answer. The symbiotic relationship allowed our team to reach a level of understanding and proficiency and implement execution we never thought would be possible in such a short period of time.
Growing beyond expectations.
Lastly, this wouldn’t have been possible without our team of interns, who brought together a diverse set of skills, and more importantly, the eagerness to learn and take deep dives in the ocean of marketing.
This internship has given me a lot to remember and cherish, but more importantly, a lot of principles and skills to carry forward through university and into the workforce, and I’m truly appreciative of it all.
